City Trip to Prague | Part 2

After having seen everything there is to see in the Castle District we decided not to go back to the Old Town right away, since we wanted to go there with more time the next day. So we walked towards Petrin Hill, from where you have another amazing view over the city. Especially if you decide to climb Prague's very own mini version of the Eiffel Tower. We went to the top right in time for sunset. The view really is breathtaking. Check out this amazing shot including the city's top sights, Prague Castle on the left and Charles Bridge on the far right of the picture:

Finally we walk back down through Mala Strana heading towars the half-island Kampa. This romantic little place manly consists of a park running along the water. Perfect for picnics during the day or just walking about at any time. At the other end Kampa ends right at the foot of the Charles Bridge. This is also were we went back towards Mala Strana to find a place to eat some traditional czech food. We ended up in a pretty touristy restaurant, where they put flags on your table showing the country you're from (there were a lot of germans in there). The food was alright, although there probably are many better places to eat around, so I probably wouldn't go there again. But the beer was good, so that made up for it. We had made it our mission to try as many different beers as possible, as the czechs are even crazier about beer than we here in Germany - unbelievable, but seemingly true.

Our third day started again with blue skies and sunshine. We started in Josefov, the Jewish Quarter. There is lots to see as well, but we decided not to buy a ticket, but to wander aimlessly through the streets and be surprised by what we would find. If you are however interested in visiting some of the buildings, get a ticket to the Jewish Museum, which will allow you to enter all the synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery.
We continued our walk along the river towards to New Town to have a look at the dancing house. Our way back led us over Wencesclas Square along the shops back to the old town. This is the perfect place if you want to go shopping, as there is probably nothing you won't find around here. While you're there also check out the Franciscan Garden and the Church of Our Lady of the Snows.

Finally we found ourselves back at the Old Town square at the Astronomical Clock. Every full hour a huge crowd forms under the clock to watch the little figures move in the windows on either side of the clock. We however were more interested in the Town Hall Tower, which you can climb to get another view over the city. You might have realised I can't get enough of climbing things to get a better view. Maybe that's because I'm so tiny and normally just don't see anything? But you have to admit the view is pretty great, isn't it? Just don't look down if you're afraid of heights.

After climbing down the stairs again, we wanted to have a look at the Church of Our Lady before Tyn right across the square, but it was closed during that time, so we couldn't go in. Instead we went on a little shopping spree to the Palladium, a shopping center in the Old Town. I have to admit, I wasn't as impressed, as everyone always predicts. It's just an average shopping center and in my eyes there's a better variety of shops towards Wencesclas Square.

The rest of the day we spend wandering around, visiting a few other places and finally going to the Wax Museum Grevin. I think those are always great, no matter your age. And if you don't have anything else to do and see, why not have some fun. We definitely did have tons of fun in the various backdrops, putting on probs and taking ridiculous pictures with the figures (most of them however so bad in quality and/or too embarrassing to post on here). After we were all posed-out and had taken enough photos we realised we were quite hungry and we had set our minds on eating burger for the last night. We found this place called Joy Burger Bar & Grill. They had loads of different burgers to choose from and they were really delicious. So all in all the perfect choice for our last dinner in Prague.

The next morning all there was left to do was pack our bags, head to the airport and fly home - but not without bringing a few czech beers back home. We had a wonderful four days in Prague and I have to say I fell in love with the city. I will gladly come back any time! I hope your enjoyed this short review of our trip and could give some of you some inspiration where to go next. What do you think of Prague? Anyone planning to go there soon? Or any recommendations what we should do next time we're there?
Hope you have a wonderful day and don't forget to smile!
